Easy Raw Strawberry Banana Pie Recipe

I love this raw strawberry banana pie recipe that I created and find it a great dessert to serve my family and friends even those who are not raw food vegans as well as raw fooders.  It always disappears fast and is so simple to make.  No cooking of course because it's a raw food recipe and can be made with this easy free recipe in just minutes. It really doesn't take that many strawberries or raspberries either and bananas are so economical.

It's important to note that if your strawberries aren't sweet that you may want to use an additional banana.  It doesn't seem to matter about the sweetness of the raspberries. The raspberries will be just supplementing or adding to the top.  The basis of the pie will be the banana and strawberries.

This fruit pie recipe can be made all year round, for holidays such as Christmas, Thanksgiving, Independence  Day,  Mother's Day,  Valentine's Day and others.  It is healthy, of course, as all raw foods are.  If you care about your family's nutrition and want to serve a nutritious healthy, low calorie, low fat dessert packed with vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and other good nutrients you'll love this raw pie.

I make it with a pecan crust in minutes but you can use another raw crust if you like, such as using half pecans and half walnuts. Raw Food Recipes

Fast and Easy Raw Strawberry Banana Pie Recipe

Ingredients:

For the date-nut pie crust:

I cup organic medjool dates, pitted

1 cup pecans

1 teaspoon vanilla, optional

For the filling:

3 large ripe, not greenish, organic bananas, can be made with 2 bananas but sweeter with 3 - sliced lengthwise

2 or 3 cups of sliced organic strawberries, the more the better

For the binder:

1/2 cup strawberries to be blended into a puree with 2 -3 medjool dates

For the topping:

1/2 cup to 1 cup organic raspberries or so

Put the crust ingredients into a food processor and process until a little sticky but not oily.  You can make it on the drier side or wetter.  I like to mix well but not too long.  Then press it into a pie pan, I use a ceramic pie dish.

Place the sliced bananas on top of the date-nut crust and press along the sides. Next lay the sliced strawberries on top of the bananas.

Puree the binder mixture by putting the 1/2 cup of strawberries into a food processor along with 2-3 pitted medjool dates and mix very well into a puree.  Pour mixture evenly into the pie pan over the bananas and strawberries and gently place the raspberries neatly in rows or other design on the top.  You'll only need a handful of raspberries.  You can cover more of the pie if you wish.  Then cover the fruit pie and put into the refrigerator for about an hour or so before serving to your family or guests or yourself!
