Stun Your Christmas Guests with a 10-Minute, 7-Ingredient Apple Puff Pastry!
This Christmas, wow your guests with the tastiest dessert ever: puff pastry filled with sweet and tangy apples! You only need two simple ingredients, puff pastry and apples, to create this mouthwatering treat.
Ingredients:
* 300 grams puff pastry
* 2 apples, peeled, cored, and sliced thinly (any variety will work! I am using green apples)
* 2 tablespoons brown sugar
* 1 teaspoon cinnamon powder
* Juice of half a lemon
* 2 tablespoons strawberry jam
* 1 tablespoon raisins
* 2 tablespoons chopped walnuts
Instructions:
1. In a medium bowl, combine the sliced apples, brown sugar, cinnamon powder, lemon juice, and mix thoroughly. Set aside.
2. On a lightly floured surface, roll out your puff pastry.
3. Spread two tablespoons of strawberry jam evenly over the center of the pastry.
4. Place the apple mixture on top of the jam.
5. Sprinkle raisins and chopped walnuts over the apple layer.
6. Fold one end of the pastry sheet over the filling, covering it completely. Press the edges firmly to seal.
7. Brush the top of the pastry with two more tablespoons of strawberry jam.
8. Following the lines of your spatula, cut the pastry into three equal pieces.9. Using the spatula again, make several shallow cuts in each pastry piece.
10. In a small bowl, whisk two egg yolks with one tablespoon of milk. Brush the mixture evenly over the whole pastry.
11. Add six slices of apple to the top of each pastry piece.
12. Sprinkle everything lightly with brown sugar.
13. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees Celsius (350 degrees Fahrenheit) for 35 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through. Keep an eye on it, as baking times may vary depending on your oven.
